Our 7-day recipe guide for Great British Pea Week

6 July, 2020

If you’re as excited as we are about Great British Pea Week (which is a LOT) and are looking for a creative way of marking the most hotly-anticipated week of the year, then you’ve come to the right place!

One of the many reasons we love our British frozen peas so much is because they can be added to so many yummy dishes. Over the years, we have been creating tasty new recipes for our fellow pea lovers out there to try at home – whether it’s a starter, main, lunch, side dish or just a snack!

So to make things even easier for you – and to celebrate Great British Pea Week of course – we’ve put together a deliciously diverse 7-day menu that’s bursting with the great British pea, and will no doubt put your usual weekly meal prep to shame.

Why not give these a go from home and let us know how you get on! Tag us on our social channels or use the #GreatBritishPeaWeek or #GBPW and you may just get a shout out from us!

Day 1

As we start a new week with good intentions, why not begin your celebration of the great British pea with a healthy Buddha Bowl with Chipotle Cauliflower, Pea Hummus and Quinoa. Did you know that a “Buddha Bowl,” as defined by urban dictionary, is “a bowl which is packed so full that it has a rounded ‘belly’ appearance on the top much like the belly of a buddha.” Sounds good enough for us!

Day 2

It may not technically be Pancake Day, but it’s Tuesday, which is the only reason we need to whip up our Chickpea and Turmeric Pancakes With Crushed Peas, Roast Butternut Squash and Tahini Dressing. Like the traditional pancakes, just increase your quantities and create as many pea-pancakes as you see fit – no judgement here!

Day 3

It’s Wednesday, which means only one thing – Hump Day. We know it’s hard mid-week; you’re halfway through the week, but just not quite close enough to the weekend to get excited. Which is why we thought you might feel like tucking into something cosy. Introducing our tantalising Pea Dal with Coconut Chutney, one of the Yes Peas! favourites, and absolutely guaranteed to get your taste buds dancing. It’s vegan too!

Day 4

If you are following this meal plan to a tee, you’ll be pleased to hear that today’s recipe recommendation is the Salmon Sashimi and Asian Pea Salad with Quinoa and Miso Dressing.

Day 5

You may have been hoping to see some sort of #FishFriday recipe today… and you would be right! We can’t ignore how much we enjoy pairing peas with fish. Why not give our Sweet Miso Grilled Cod With Peas, Edamame and Soy recipe a go? A perfectly light dish for summer nights in the garden before a busy weekend. Bon appetite!

Day 6

Who said you can’t have baked eggs for breakfast? We think there is nothing better than waking up on Saturday morning to a tasty brunch, which is why we’re going to be getting stuck into our Green Baked Eggs with Peas and Leeks. Not only is it tasty, delicious and easy to make, it’s also pretty healthy and only calls for a few simple ingredients.

Day 7

It may be summer, but the weather isn’t quite matching the season at the moment, so we felt there was nothing better than a good old roast. Our Roast Chicken, Sweet Potato and Orange with a Pea and Avocado Salsa recipe is a perfect spin on the traditional roast, especially if you’re looking for something a little bit lighter than normal.
