Peas can be classed both as a vegetable and a legume. Peas contain many nutrients including; vitamins K, C, A and B complex - B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), folic acid. Peas are recommended for strengthening digestion, reducing water retention and helping to promote elimination. Peas are low in sodium.
